Whether your goal is to one day take on one of the great downwind races like the Molokai in Hawaii, nail the paddle leg of your next adventure race, or just discover a new sport that's low impact and gives you a great workout in the great outdoors, our intro to ocean paddling is your first step.
What is it?
Led by some of the world's most experienced AR/multisport athletes and coaches Peak Adventure’s Intro to Ocean Paddling comprises two two-hour sessions covering the basics of:
Craft selection and set up
How to get back in when you fall out (the most important skill of all!)
The fundamentals of the kayak stroke
Race-day techniques e.g. wash-riding, nailing the buoy turn
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to join the Peak Adventure weekday squad sessions. See full details here.
Who is this course for?
For people who've never sat in an ocean ski, to novices who'd like to brush up on their existing skills and gain confidence. If you've never, or hardly, paddled and want to give ocean paddling a go, this is for you.

This course comprises TWO sessions on consecutive weekends.
