Outlaw paddling are elighted to announce that, in collaboration with the Torquay SLSC, the Outlaw 5 Torquay to Urquharts Bluff event will now become the Outlaw 5 "THE GRAHAM LONG MEMORIAL PADDLE".
This will be a fantastic opportunity to continue the tradition of a great race in memory of a great man of paddling and surf lifesaving who died whilst on a downwind paddler from anglesea to Torquay. As the Outlaw 5 is the marquee race of the outlaw series and the Victorian leg of the OCEAN PADDLERS AUSTRALIAN OCEAN RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS SERIES, the Outlaw 5 Graham Long Memorial Paddle will now attract paddlers from around Australia and overseas.
We can now confirm that we will have paddlers from overseas, including World Ocean Racing Champion Dawid Mocke from South Africa, and around Australia, including multiple Molokai World Champion Dean Gardiner, will be competing in the 2010 race. It will be a fantastic chance to see Victoria's best race the best in the world.
THE COURSE
The 22km course will run either from Urquharts Bluff to Torquay surf beach (finishing at Torquay SLSC) or from Ocean Grove to Torquay in order to provide the best opportunity possible for a feast of downwind racing for both Ocean skis (of all kinds), Outrigger canoes and SLSA approved surf skis.
BUT WAIT, THERE"S MORE!!!!!!!!!!!
We will also be offering an 8km downwind race (from either Pt Addis to Torquay or Bancoora Beach or Pt. Impossible to Toruqay) for Malibu board paddlers, stand up paddle surfers or surf ski paddlers who do not feel ready to tackle the longer race.

Sunday the 10th of Jan the team at Outlaw paddling will be conducting another free demo day at cozy corner on Surf Coast, Torquay, East of the Bell Street and The Esplanade round about, look out for the peak adventure flags, cozy corner car park.

Classes:
- Class 1 = 7am - 9am beginner/intermediate
- Class 2 = 9:30am - 11:30am beginner/intermediate
- Class 3 = 12pm - 2pm intermediate/advanced
Dawid Mocke will go through the ABC of ocean paddling during these classes. He will be passing on his years of experience to all participants during these classes. If you are a keen ocean paddler then you must make the time to attend this clinic. You will be learning from the best ocean paddler in the world and you will improve your ocean paddling.
