Training Programs - Ready made!

Have you caught the adventure racing bug yet? Looking to do an off-road race in the future but you're a little new to the sport and need some help? Well you have come to the right place!

Welcome to the Peak Adventure training page. We're delighted to offer you a number of training programs structured around your racing goals. The programs are designed around the following types of races:

  • Multisport (1-3 hours or 3-10 hours)

  • Adventure Race (1-3 hours or 3-10 hours)

  • Lake or River Kayak (1-10km or 10-30km)

  • Ocean or Bay Kayak (1-10km or 10-30km)

  • Trail Run (1-10km, 10-30km or 30km+)

  • Mountain Bike (10-30km, 30-60km or 60-100km)


The programs are either 1 month, 3 months or 6 months in duration, depending on how long you allow yourself to train. Each program has been developed by Peak Adventure exercise physiologists who are experienced in all adventure-type sports. The programs are built on the principles of progressive overload, training specificity and periodisation.

In each program, you’ll receive the following:

  • A 1 month, 3 month or 6 month training plan describing daily / weekly training sessions;

  • A compliance schedule – to help you keep track of the sessions you complete or don’t complete;

  • Equipment advice: what equipment is needed as a minimum for your sport;

  • Training advice from the pros: what to expect during the training period;

  • Racing tips from the pros: what to expect on race day;

  • Racing nutrition: some tips on what to eat / drink on race day.
